Have you ever had an identity crisis? Have you ever wondered where you came from, why you’re here on earth, and where you will go when you die? Have you ever tried to trace your ancestors back several generations? If so, did you discover some things you didn’t really want to know? Did you find some skeletons in the closet? Have you ever wished you could have had different parents and ancestors? Do you ever feel hopeless and helpless? Would you be interested in a new identity? Let’s consider –

Our Human Fathers. The Scriptures tell us that our first parents were Adam and Eve (Genesis 2:7, 19; 1 Corinthians 15:45, 47; Romans 5:12). All of us are also descendants of Noah and his three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japeth who survived the universal flood (Genesis 6:10; 10:1-32; 1 Peter 3:20). When their descendants refused to scatter out over the whole earth, God came down and changed their languages so they couldn’t keep building the Tower of Babel (Genesis 9:1; 11:1-9). He also divided up the land into many continents (Genesis 10:25) and set up the boundaries of nations (Acts 17:26). He’s opposed to the “One World Government” that sinful men will set up in opposition to God. It seems like the stage is almost set for the events recorded in Revelation 6-19 to occur.  It will only last for seven years (Daniel 9:27). Do you know why (Matthew 24:22)? Then the Lord Jesus Christ will destroy it when He returns to earth to rule for 1,000 years (Daniel 2:44, 45; 2 Thessalonians 2:8; Revelation 19:11-20:10).

Our Spiritual Fathers. Whether we want to admit it or not, we all started out in this life with the devil as our father (Psalm 51:5). He holds the unbelievers in spiritual darkness (John 8:44; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Colossians 1:13; 1 John 3:9, 10). If we want to avoid the lake of fire (Matthew 25:41, 46) and go to heaven (John 14:1-3), we need to be born again from above (John 3:3-8) so that we can enter into the kingdom of the Son of His love (Colossians 1:13). At the moment of salvation, the believer participates in the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4) and is enabled to do things that are pleasing to God (2 Corinthians 5:10). Until then, “…we are all like an unclean thing, and all our [righteous works] are like filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6). Even “the plowing of the wicked is sin” in God’s sight (Proverbs 21:4). That is because he does it independently of God as Lucifer did (Isaiah 14:12-14).

Our Secular Indoctrination. The devil is the biggest liar (John 8:44). He wants us to believe that we evolved from slime and lower animals but that somehow we can evolve upward and eventually become gods (Genesis 3:5; Romans 1:25; 1 Thessalonians 2:11). Evolution* is being taught in the public schools as a fact and not as a theory. Repeating a lie over and over doesn’t make it truth. Satan also wants us to shift the blame for our sinful conduct over to others (Genesis 3:12, 13). Do you do this yourself?  He wants people to believe that they can earn their way to heaven by their good works (Ephesians 2:8, 9; Titus 3:5).

Our Biblical Indoctrination. The Scriptures are clear. We’re all sinners with a sin nature that constantly opposes God (Romans 3:10; 7:15-25; Jeremiah 17:9). We inherited it from our parents (Psalm 51:5). We don’t lose our sin nature when we get saved (1 John 1:8). We will have it until the day we die or when the Rapture takes place (1 John 3:2). Christians, who are carnal (1 Corinthians 3:1-4), have the potential to do all the sinful things they did prior to their being saved (Galatians 5:19-21). The unbelievers to be born again from above (John 1:13; 3:3-8). All of us need to have the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Savior (Acts 16:31). We can’t get into heaven on the merits of our parents.  We must believe the Gospel that Christ died for our sins…and rose again bodily from the dead on the third day if we want to be saved (1 Corinthians 15:3, 4; Luke 24:39). Every true Christians can have assurance of salvation before he/she dies (1 John 5:13; Romans 8:16). Do you have it?

Our Personal Application. Are you are true child of God?  Have you been born from above (John 3:3; Acts 16:31)? Are you acting like a child of God or the devil (1 John 3:7-10)? Are you spiritually sick and about to die physically (1 Corinthians 11:30; 1 John 5:16)? Are your known sins confessed to God and others whom you have offended (1 John 1:9; James 5:16; James 5:19, 20)? Are you displaying the Fruit of the Spirit properly toward the right objects at the right time (Galatians 5:22, 23; See 1 John 2:15-17). Are you sharing the Good News concerning Christ with others (Acts 1:8)?

Our Help. We’re here to help those who are teachable and willing to change when they are presented with the truth from God’s Word and are convinced by the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 2:2, 15, 3:16, 17). Be like the Bereans and check things out for yourself (Acts 17:11).  We can be reached at 805-238-3549 or through our website: If this article has helped you, we’d like to know how it has. In the Scriptures we’re told that God wants people to believe on Him and be saved (1 Timothy 2:4). He is very long suffering and patient (2 Peter 3:9). But there comes a time when God says, “That’s enough.” Then judgment comes on those who rebel against Him and who refuse to believe on Him for their salvation and deliverance from the lake of fire (John 3:18, 36). Are you rebelling against God? Why not learn from the mistakes of others?

The Antediluvians

After Eve and Adam ate the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden, they were expelled from it and cursed (Genesis 3:16-19). Eve was deceived by the devil who used the serpent (Revelation 12:9) to get her to believe that if she ate from the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil she would be like God knowing the difference between good and evil. Perhaps she thought she could live independently of God and make wise decisions on her own. (Read John 15:5). Lucifer wanted to act independently of God too (Isaiah 14:12-14; Ezekiel 28:12ff). His rebellion resulted in his becoming God’s arch enemy.

For the next 1,600 years Adam and Eve and their descendants lived according to their consciences. Things got so bad in the days of Noah that God had to bring a universal flood on all humanity with the exception of Noah, his three sons and their wives (Genesis 6-8). Some skeptics say that a universal flood couldn’t happen. Well, nothing is too hard for God (Genesis 18:14). He is omnipotent (Revelation 1:8). But the doubters don’t take into account the fact that the topography of the earth at that time was quite different. (See below.)

The Tower Of Babel

Not long after the flood God allowed men to try their hand at governing themselves. He told then to spread out over the face of the earth rather than congregate together (Genesis 8:17; 9:1). But a strong natural leader, by the name of Nimrod (Genesis 10:8, 9), convinced the people to stay together and build a tower that would display their rebellion against God’s rule (Genesis 11:4) . Once again, God had to do something about the wickedness that was going on. So He came down and confused their languages so they couldn’t continue their building project (Genesis 11:7).

As the people split up and intermarried with each other, certain genes became dominant. This, we believe, is when the different ethnic groups came into existence and that still exist to this day. There is only one race, the human race (Acts 17:26). It was during the days of a man by the name of Peleg that the continents split up into what we have today (Genesis 10:25).

Those who teach and believe the theory of evolution* are playing right into the hands of the devil. Evolution is “the lie” (Romans 1:25; 2 Thessalonians 2:11) that teaches that man is progressing upward into godhood when, in reality, he is degenerating in morality, and becoming more and more ungodly and depraved. God’s Word tells us that this is what happens to those who aren’t thankful to God and who dismiss Him from their thinking (Romans 1:18-32). Are you one of those who acts like an atheist? Read Psalm 10:3-11; 14:1. Don’t play the part of a fool.

Sodom and Gomorrah

During the days of the Abraham, (whom the Jews, Christians, and Muslims claim as their father) the people in the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah became so wicked that God brought down brimstone and fire on them (Genesis 19:24). Someone has suggested that if God doesn’t judge the people of our day, He’ll have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah. Sadly, we see moral degeneration and lawlessness on the increase (2 Timothy 3:1ff).

The Amorites

You’ve probably never heard of them before. But God told Abraham that after spending a long time in Egypt, his descendants (the Jews) were to go into the land of Canaan (Israel) and destroy the wicked Amorites (Canaanites) upon whom Noah had placed a curse many years before (Genesis 9:25). No, they aren’t the African people. These people, who were in the land that God promised to give to the Jews (Genesis 15:18-21), were vile and wicked people. Apparently they were contaminated with all kinds of infectious diseases too. Their cup of iniquity was full and it was time for them to be wiped out as God had said (Genesis 15:16).

The Jews

But the rebellious Jews refused to carry out fully God’s clear instructions (Deuteronomy 13:12ff; Joshua 6:17). Instead, they spared many of their enemies. The Canaanites (in Israel’s land) became thorns in the Jew’s sides (Numbers 33:55; Judges 2:3) and led them into their gross, idolatrous practices that included sacrificing their children to their pagan gods and throwing them into the fire (2 Kings 17:31). By the way, aren’t we doing the same thing when we kill babies in the womb and then incinerate them? Did you know that over 40 million babies have been aborted in our country alone since 1973? So God had to bring judgment on His own people, the Jews. They suffered for almost 350 years at the hands of their enemies in the days of the Judges before the monarchy began.

Later on in Israel’s history, God sent the Babylonians to punish His people for their idolatrous practices and for violating the Sabbatical years for 490 years (2 Chronicles 36:21; Leviticus 26:34-43). It was during the 70 years of captivity in Babylon that the Jews learned not to engage in idolatry (Exodus 20:3-5).

Four World Empires

God used the Empires of Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome to chasten His own people, the Jews (Daniel 2:36-43). When the wickedness of one was full, God brought in another nation to destroy the previous one. One day (perhaps sooner than most people realize) the Lord Jesus Christ will destroy all the kingdoms of men and set up His kingdom on earth (Daniel 2:44-46). Where will you be when this happens?

Make no mistake about it, God will fulfill all the unconditional promises that He made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God will use the Antichrist (who comes out of the Revived Roman Empire) to chasten the Jews who are still in rebellion against Him. It’s called the “time of Jacob’s trouble” and the “Great Tribulation” (Jeremiah 30:7; Matthew 24:15ff; Revelation 6-19). But at the end of this seven year period God will deliver the believing remnant (Romans 11:26) and give them the land that extends from the Mediterranean Sea to the Euphrates River (Genesis 15:18-21).

The Jews will become the dominant nation on earth during Christ’s millennial reign. King David will be resurrected from the dead (Jeremiah 30:9) and will rule under Christ and the Church that becomes Christ’s Bride at the Rapture (Revelation 21:9ff; 22:3; Ephesians 5:32).

Woe to those who mistreat the Jews (Genesis 12:1-3) and who try to take their land from them. We don’t believe in “Replacement Theology.” ** The true Church and Israel are two distinct entities (1 Corinthians 10:32).

Satan’s Last Attempt

During Christ’s 1,000 year reign on earth the devil will be bound in the Abyss that is located in the heart of the earth (Revelation 20:1-3). But after the 1,000 years are over he will be allowed to come up from that pit and make one last attempt to try to overthrow God. He will gather to himself all those who inwardly rebelled against Christ during the millennium. At that time, the Lord Jesus Christ will cast the devil and all those who followed him into the lake of fire to suffer forever (Matthew 25:41, 46; Revelation 20:7-10).

You have an important decision to make if you haven’t already made it. You must decide to believe or not believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as the One who died for your sins…and who rose again bodily on the third day. There are serious consequences. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name [person and work] of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:18, 36).

**Replacement Theology:

***Clear Gospel

Words are powerful. They can be used to tear down or build up other people. In what way do you usually use your words? Are they pleasing and acceptable to God (Psalm 19:14)? God’s Word, the Bible, is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword. It pierces even to the division of the soul [emotions] and spirit [mind], and of the joints and marrow, and [it] is a discerner of the thoughts and intents [motivations] of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). If you’re a Christian, do you know which part of your being is currently saved? Is it your spirit, soul, or your body (1 Thessalonians 5:23)? If you don’t know, ask for help. Knowing this could help you in the decisions you make every day.

Profitable. The Scriptures are profitable for doctrine (both truths to be believed, and truths to be believed and practiced – Titus 1:9; 2 Timothy 2:15), for reproof (when we need it – 2 Timothy 4:2-4), for correction (of false thinking and actions), and for instruction in righteousness. The purpose is so that the man/woman of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work that God planned for each of His children to do while he/she is here on earth (2 Timothy 3:16, 17; Ephesians 2:10; 1 Peter 4:10).

Love. Christians are exhorted to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15) and to build other believers up in the faith (Romans 14:19; 1 Thessalonians 5:11). Are you doing this on a regular basis? Do you forsake the assembly meetings of the church (Hebrews 10:24, 25)? How would you feel if the government said you couldn’t meet with other Christians? It may happen here in the United States, as it is in other countries, sooner than you think.

The Word. Jesus Christ is described as the Word (the Communicator) who came down from heaven (Hebrews 10:7-9) to this earth on the behalf of the three persons in the Godhead (Matthew 28:19; John 14:16) to reveal to us humans the true nature of the one true and living God (Deuteronomy 6:4; John 1:1, 14, 18; 17:3, 4). He did this by adding to His deity a true human nature (not a sin nature – Hebrews 4:15) and a real body. One early heretic taught that the divine Christ descended on the man Jesus at His baptism and left Him before His crucifixion. Some people still believe this.

Firstborn. “The ‘Firstborn’ [mentioned in Colossians 1:15] cannot be part of Creation if He created ‘all things.’ One cannot create himself. [One of the cults] wrongly adds the word ‘other’ six times in this passage in their [translation of the Scriptures]. Thus they suggest [and teach] that Christ created all other things after He [Himself] was created [by God the Father – Jehovah]! But the word ‘other’ is not in the Greek)…The Greek word for ‘Firstborn’ is prototokos. If Christ were the ‘first created,’ the Greek word would be protoktisis. [The word] ‘Firstborn’ denotes two things of Christ: He preceded the whole Creation, and He is sovereign over all creation.” – Norman L. Geisler, Bible Knowledge Commentary, pp. 672, 673. Don’t put your faith is a false Christ or you will end up with the devil and his angels in the lake of fire forever (Matthew 7:21-23; 24:5; 25:41, 46; 2 Corinthians 11:13-15). There is no annihilation of the wicked dead or reincarnation into another life taught in the Scriptures (Hebrews 9:27).

Creation. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). “All things were made [came into being] through Him [The Word, the Lord Jesus Christ], and without Him nothing was made that was made” (John 1:3). Why is the doctrine of divine creation so hated by large numbers of intelligent people? Is it not because it makes them indebted, subservient and responsible to an omnipotent and omniscient God? If God gave us our very existence, then of necessity we owe Him our allegiance. If it can be demonstrated that our life is an accident and that we all came through the evolutionary* process, then we can live like irresponsible animals and forget about God. This is the practical result of a rejection of divine creation. – Adapted from Dr. Ernest Pickering, “The Word Became Flesh” RBP., pp. 5, 6. (*View and then share with us your thoughts on it. Also read Romans 1:18-32.) “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God’” (Psalm 14:1).

Spirit Beings. Even though most people aren’t aware of their existence, the Scriptures tell us that God the Son also created an innumerable company of spirit beings: cherubs, seraphs, and angels (Hebrews 12:22). The anointed cherub Lucifer enticed one third of the lower categories of angels to join him in his rebellion against God (Isaiah 14:12ff; Ezekiel 28:12ff; Revelation 12:4). Christians wrestle in the spiritual realm with principalities and powers when they are allowed to attack us (Ephesians 6:10-17). They and our other two spiritual enemies constantly test our loyalties and love (James 1:2-15; 1 John 5:2, 3). Whom or what do you love most? Who or what is your idol?

Life. God the Son is eternal (1 John 5:11, 13, 20). He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End (Revelation 1:8). He is the One who gives eternal life to all who believe on Him as their personal Savior.  To be saved, we must believe that Christ He died for our sins…and rose again bodily on the third day (John 3:16, 18, 36; 14:6; 1 Corinthians 15:3, 4; Acts 16:31). Once we receive eternal life from God, it can never be lost or taken from us (John 10:28, 29; Romans 8:35-39). Would you like to have eternal life as a present possession and know that you will go to heaven the moment you die (1 John 5:13)? Do you know the difference between eternal security and assurance of salvation? If you’re not sure about your eternal destiny, we’d be happy to show you from an opened Bible how you can be.

Light. The Word (Jesus) was the light of men and the light of the world (John 1:4; 8:12; 9:5). But most people love darkness rather than the light. “And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God” (John 3:19-21). Do you love light or darkness? The pleasures of sin are short lived (Hebrews 11:25). Read about the man who lost his life because he pursued a sensuous, wicked woman (Proverbs 7:21-23). Some people, including Christians, die slow and painful deaths from sexually transmitted diseases (1 John 5:16; James 5:19, 20). But all sins can be forgiven except the sin of unbelief (John 16:9). It’s the unforgivable sin.

Unlimited. Contrary to what some groups teach, we believe that God’s offer of deliverance from hell to heaven is extended to all the human race but not to the devil or to the fallen angels (1 Timothy 4:10; 1 John 2:2; Matthew 25:41, 46). We don’t believe that everyone will be saved some day and end up in heaven. This false teaching is called “universalism.”* If God forced the rebels (including the devil and demons) to go to heaven, it would be hell in heaven for them. Believe it or not, some people hate God and want nothing to do with Him and His children (Revelation 16:11).

Choices. While you’re living here on earth you have an opportunity to choose to believe or not believe on Christ as your personal Savior (John 3:18). The devil wants people to delay their decision to trust Christ as their Savior. Don’t. “For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away” (James 4:14). “Now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).

Help. We’re here to assist those who are concerned about their eternal destiny. We also want to help Christians grow spiritually for the glory of God and the good of others (2 Peter 3:18; 1 Corinthians 10:31). Are you growing or stagnant? “The Big Bang”

Posted: November 28, 2014 in Evolution, Gospel, Salvation

Recently I read an article entitled, “The theory of evolution of the Coca Cola can.” It went like this: “Billions of years ago, a big bang produced a large rock. As the rock cooled, sweet brown liquid formed on its surface. As time passed, aluminum formed itself into a can, a lid, and a tab. Millions of years later, red and white paint fell from the sky, and formed itself into the words ‘Coca Cola 12 fluid ounces.’”

Insult. “Of course, my theory is an insult to your intellect, because you know that if the Coca Cola can is made, there must be a maker. If it is designed, there must be a designer. The alternative, that it happened by chance or accident, is to move into an intellectual free zone.

Banana. It’s the atheist’s nightmare. It is shaped for a human’s hand. It has a non-slip surface. It has outward indicators of inward content: Green–too early, Yellow –just right, Black–too late. It has a tab for removal of the wrapper. It is perforated on the wrapper. It has a bio-degradable wrapper. It is shaped for the human’s mouth. It has a point at top for ease of entry. It is pleasing to the taste buds. It is curved towards the face to make the eating process easy. Therefore, to say that the banana happened by accident is even more unintelligent than to say that no one designed the Coca Cola can.

The Eye. Did you know that the eye has 40,000,000 nerve endings, the focusing muscles move an estimated 100,000 times a day, and the retina contains 137,000,000 light sensitive cells?

Charles Darwin said, “To suppose that the eye could have been formed by natural selection, seems I freely confess, absurd in the highest degree.” If man cannot begin to make a human eye, how could anyone in his right mind think that eyes formed by mere chance? In fact, man cannot make anything from nothing. We don’t know how to do it. We can re-create, reform, develop . . . but we cannot create even one grain of sand from nothing. Yet, the eye is only a small part of the most sophisticated part of creation-the human body.

George Gallupthe famous statistician, said, “I could prove God statistically; take the human body alone; the chance that all the functions of the individual would just happen, is a statistical monstrosity.”

Albert Einstein said, Everyone who is seriously interested in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the universe—a spirit vastly superior to man, and one in the face of which our modest powers must feel humble.”

Oranges. Could I convince you that I dropped 50 oranges onto the ground and they by chance fell into ten rows of five oranges? The logical conclusion is that someone with an intelligent mind put them there. The odds that ten oranges would fall by accident into a straight line are mind-boggling, let alone ten rows of five.

The declaration “There is no God” [Psalm 14:1] is what is known as an absolute statement. For an absolute statement to be true, I must have absolute knowledge. To say “There is no God,” and to be correct in the statement, I must be omniscient. I must know how many hairs are upon every head, every thought of every human heart, every detail of history, every atom within every rock…nothing is hidden from my eyes…I know the intimate details of the secret love-life of the fleas on the back of the black cat of Napolean’s great-grandmother. To make the absolute statement “There is no God.” I must have absolute knowledge that there isn’t one.

Deliverance. Changing your mind from an atheist to a theist isn’t enough for you to be saved. Even the demons believe that there is one God (James 2:19). We must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ exclusively apart from our works (Acts 4:12; 16:31; Ephesians 2:8, 9; Titus 3:5). Christ died for our sins…and rose again bodily on the third day” (1 Corinthians 15:3, 4). This is the Gospel message that is the power of God unto our salvation (Romans 1:16, 17).  Have you placed your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ yet?  If not, why not now?  If you have, share the Good News with three or four other people.  Ask them to do the same thing.  Together we can reach more people for Christ.  Can we count on you to help us get the Word out?
