John 12:23-50

In spite of performing over 35 recorded miracles while He was here on earth, most of the Jewish leaders and people rejected Him as their promised Messiah (Christ) and the Son of God (John 5:18; 10:31; 20:31). Isaiah the prophet had predicted that all this would happen (Isaiah 53:1). So Jesus told His disciples that He would be going to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the Jewish elders, chief priests, and the scribes and be killed. But He would also be raised bodily from the dead on the third day as He had predicted (Matthew 16:21; John 10:17, 18).

Imminent. When Jesus spoke on this occasion to His disciples, He was just four days away from the Passover Feast. It was observed every year by the Jews in remembrance of their deliverance from bondage in Egypt (Exodus 12; John 12:23-28, 32). Although the Jewish leaders wanted to kill Him, they didn’t want to do so during the Passover time lest a riot break out (Matthew 26:5). But, whether they wanted it to happen at some other time or not, it was God’s plan for Jesus to be crucified during the Passover since He was the Lamb of God who had come to take away the sin of the world (John 1:29). There were a few more prophecies that needed to be fulfilled literally before He died and rose again bodily from the dead (Matthew 26:54, 56). By the way, all the prophecies made concerning His second coming will be fulfilled literally, not allegorically. Don’t confuse Israel with the Church. They are two separate groups with whom God is dealing (1 Corinthians 10:32).

Pain. The horrific pain that Jesus endured at the hands of the Roman soldiers and on the cross was physical and emotional (John 19:1; Luke 22:42). But the most intense suffering was spiritual when God the Father turned His back on Jesus as He bore your sins and mine on the cross (Psalm 22:1; Matthew 27:46). He died as the Just One for us, the unjust ones (1 Peter 3:18).

Need. In spite of how they had mistreated Him, Jesus knew that they had a serious, spiritual problem. All unbelievers were/are headed for the eternal lake of fire with the devil and his angels/demons (Matthew 25:41, 46) unless they believe on Him alone as their personal Savior (John 3:18, 36). We know that many of the religious, Jewish priests did believe on Him after His bodily resurrection from the dead (Acts 6:7). So did His half brother James (1 Corinthians 15:7). Has the devil blinded your spiritual eyes so you don’t see the urgency of believing in Christ alone for your salvation (2 Corinthians 4:4; 1 John 5:19)? Do you love darkness and the pleasures of sin so much that you refuse to come to the Light (Jesus) for deliverance (John 3:19; 8:12; 14:30)?

Response. The response of the Jewish people to Jesus was varied (John 12:27, 42, 43). Some believed on Him as their promised Messiah and the Son of God (John 1:12; Matthew 16:16). But most of them rejected Him because He didn’t come up to their expectations of Him (Isaiah 53:1). They wanted a political deliverer who would save them from Roman oppression. They cried out to the Roman governor, Pilate who wanted to release Jesus (Matthew 27:24; John 18:38; 19:4, 6) by saying, “His blood be on us and our children” (Matthew 27:25). This is why the Jews have been the objects of persecution for the last 2,000 years. God won’t begin to deal with the Jews again as a nation until the true Church has been removed from the earth in the Rapture (Romans 11:25; 1 Corinthians 15:51, 52). Then “The time of Jacob’s (Israel’s) trouble” will come during the second half the the Tribulation (Jeremiah 30:7; Matthew 24:15ff). Do you know the purpose of “The Tribulation?” It seems to be near at hand as we see the one world government, and the one world church forming.

Time. Christ’s time on earth was very limited. So is our time on earth (James 4:14). The only time a person has to be saved is in this life. There are no opportunities to be saved after one dies physically (Hebrews 9:27; 2 Corinthians 6:2). There are five crowns, praise, and rewards from God that a Christian can earn during his/her life on earth. Salvation is offered freely to all men, but rewards must be earned after one is saved (Ephesians 2:10; 1 Corinthians 3:11-15). What are you doing with God’s gift of time to you? You have 24 hours, 1,440 minutes, 86,400 seconds in one day. Are you using them wisely for the glory of God and the good of others? “Only one life will soon be passed, and only what’s done [properly – 2 Timothy 2:5] for Christ will last.”

In a fictitious story Jesus once was asked about immigration. He responded by saying, “Remember, even the New Jerusalem in heaven has a high wall that is 216 feet high and 6,000 miles long. At each of the twelve gates there is an angel who puts people through a strict vetting process.” (See Revelation 21 to find out who gets in and who doesn’t.)

Boundaries. Who establishes the boundaries of nations and who sets up and brings down kings and kingdoms (Acts 17:26; Daniel 4:17, 25)? Who changed the languages of mankind (Genesis 11:7)? Who will defy God by setting up man’s one world government (2 Thessalonians 2:1-12; Revelation 13)?

God’s Simple Plan Of Salvation – (In 24 languages) http://kelseypeach.com/goodnews.htm

Recently, while I was teaching a Bible study at our church and over the Internet to some people around the world, the GPS on my cell phone identified me as being at “The *** Inferno.” One of my listeners pointed this out to me. Perhaps some of you who listened in were wondering if it was “A message from hell.” As hard as I tried to remove this location from my cell phone, I wasn’t able to do so. It’s still on there.

Story. All this reminded me of the story that Jesus told about the rich man who died and went to Hades to suffer for eternity (Luke 16:19-31). He asked Father Abraham to send Lazarus, the former beggar, to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool the rich man’s tongue because He was being tormented by the flames. He also wanted Lazarus to go back to earth to warn his five brothers so they wouldn’t end up there in that awful place. But Abraham told him that this wasn’t possible. He said, “If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.”

Destiny. Folks, once we die, our eternal destiny will have been determined by what we did with the Lord Jesus Christ who died for our sins…and rose again bodily on the third day. If our faith was resting in Him alone to save us, we will spend eternity with God in heaven (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8, 9). If not, all unbelievers will end up with the devil and his angels in the lake of fire forever (Matthew 25:41, 46). We don’t want you or anyone else to go there.

Internet. The world wide web is part of the devil’s present world system (Ephesians 2:2; 6:12; John 12:31). It’s like a web that ensnares others into his system (1 John 2:15; 5:19). Maturing Christians may use it, but we are not to abuse it (1 Corinthians 7:31; See James 4:1-4). We’ve been told that the Internet is also now under the control of the United Nations. That’s frightening. Who has the power to shut it down? Image the panic that would come on the people of this world if they didn’t have their cell phones or the Internet. I’ve read that if an EMP “electromagnetic pulse” bomb was set off high in the the atmosphere over the middle of our country it could knock out virtually everything that is electronically controlled. This would include our cell phones, computers, automobiles, and many other things upon which we depend every day.

GPS. Most people’s cell phones have “Global Positioning Systems” on them. This enables others to know where you are at any given moment. It amazes me that I can call people on their cell phones and the system can find them wherever they are. All around us there are signals of which most of us are not aware. It’s like the unseen spirit world where we have angels and demons working behind the scenes to influence and control human beings (Daniel 10:13; Ephesians 6:12; Hebrews 1:14; Colossians 1:16). In my case, while I was broadcasting my Bible study live over the Internet, the GPS positioned me in the wrong place, at the “Inferno” in my town. I’ve never been there.

Spies In The Sky. Satellites way above the earth have the capabilities of seeing things on earth. I recall using “Google Earth” to locate the house in which I lived in Japan as I was growing up. I was able to go to the street level view and figure out the day of the week and the approximate time the picture was taken by the shadows and the surroundings. Enemy nations are working on laser beams that can render these satellites useless.

Computers. Some of them have the capabilities of using facial recognition to identify people. High tech cameras are supposedly able to pick up people’s finger prints or information from their eyes. Bar codes and other chips are being used in passports, credit cards, on items for sale to control travel and commerce. Recently someone was able to hack into our credit card information to purchase items. The credit card company suspected unusual activities and contacted us to determine if we had indeed purchased certain items. We hadn’t and so they issued us another credit card.

666. This is called “The number [mark] of the beast” (Revelation 13:11-18). The “beast” refers to the Antichrist’s character, not as he will appear to the people of this world. This individual will be very persuasive and will be able to perform the same three kinds of miracles that Jesus and His apostles did while there were on earth (John 20:31; 2 Thessalonians 2:9; Acts 2:22; 2 Corinthians 12:12). Those who don’t take his mark will not be able to buy or sell without it and many of them will die physically. But those who take it on their hand or head during the “seven years of the great tribulation” will be doomed forever (Revelation 14:9, 10). This kind of technology is already being used on animals and some people, including some fire fighters and police officers. Some of these RFID chips are the size of a grain of rice and are being put into their hands. Some people prefer doing business this way rather than carrying around money and other forms of ID. Do you know how to avoid the awful tribulation that is coming, perhaps much sooner than most people believe?

Things To Come. The Scriptures tell us that two New World Orders are coming to this earth. The first one will be Satan’s New World Order. Thankfully it will last for only seven years (Daniel 9:27; Revelation 12:14; Jeremiah 30:7). If God allowed it to go on any longer, no flesh on earth would survive (Matthew 24:22). This will be a counterfeit to Christ’s kingdom on earth that will last for 1,000 years (Revelation 20:1-6). During the reign of the Antichrist (Man of Sin) over one half of the world’s population will die (Revelation 6:8; 9:15). It will come to an end when the Lord Jesus Christ returns to this earth to rule as the King of kings and Lord of lords (Revelation 19:16; Matthew 24:29 ff). Satan, the Antichrist, the false prophet and all unbelievers who followed the devil will be defeated and removed from the earth.

Peace On Earth. Following this, Jesus Christ and His Bride, the true Church, will rule over the earth for 1,000 years from the New Jerusalem which, we believe, will be like a satellite city circling the earth once a day (Revelation 1:7; 21:9-27). The Jews will be the predominate nation on earth (Deuteronomy 28:13), and resurrected King David will reign over the Jews and all other lesser kings on the earth (Jeremiah 30:9; Daniel 12:12). Some of the resurrected Old Testament believers will be judges and rulers over the people who will repopulate the earth (Isaiah 1:26; Luke 19:17).

No Comparison. The technological advancements of mankind are nothing compared to the abilities that Jesus Christ, the God-man has. He is all knowing and wise (John 2:24; Isaiah 46:10), all powerful (Ephesians 3:20; Revelation 1:8), loving and gracious (1 John 4:8; Ephesians 2:8; 1 Peter 2:3), long suffering (2 Peter 3:9), and willing to forgive those who believe on Him as their personal Savior (Matthew 9:6; Ephesians 1:7). But He is also holy (1 Peter 1:15, 16), and righteous and must punish sinners who reject His offer of salvation (John 3:18, 36; 2 Timothy 4:8).

Invitation. God graciously invites you and every other human being to put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ who died for our sins…and rose again bodily on the third day (Acts 16:31; 1 Corinthians 15:3, 4). You can accept Him and receive eternal life or you can reject Him and it (1 John 5:11-13). Please make the right decision today! This is the only moment you have (2 Corinthians 6:2). Our lives are like a vapor that appears for a little time and then it vanishes away (James 4:14; See Proverbs 27:1).

John 10:22-30

One of most beloved verses in the Bible is found in John 3:16. “For God so loved the [people of the] world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have [eternal] life.” This verse tells us that no human being has to die and be eternally separated from God in the lake of fire (Matthew 25:41, 46). Contrary to what some false teachers are saying, not everyone will eventually end up in heaven someday. Believe it or not, you can be assured of a home in heaven (John 14:1-3), even before we die (Philippians 3:20). This is a wonderful and comforting hope (1 Thessalonians 4:17).

The Hostile Encounter. The hypocritical, religious leaders of Christ’s day were envious of His popularity with the common people (Matthew 27:18), and were looking for ways to kill Him. With every sign miracle that He performed, their anger seemed to intensify especially since the time He healed a lame man on the Sabbath (John 5:16). God’s enemies were/are vicious and don’t play fairly (1 Peter 5:8). To them, “The end justified the means.” (Roman 3:8). But God doesn’t allow His children to operate this way if they want to be rewarded for their service (2 Timothy 2:5; 2 Corinthians 5:10).

The Setting. Jesus’ encounter with the religious leaders took place during the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, in the winter time (John 10:22). It was a time to recall the cleansing of the Temple that had been desecrated by Antiochus Epiphanes, the Syrian in 167 B.C. when he offered a sow on the Jewish altar. Another man like him, the Antichrist, will do something similar during the middle of the seven years of the Tribulation (Matthew 24:15; Revelation 13:18). This may not be that far off as we see indicators of the coming one world government, and one world religion.

The Question. Having surrounded Jesus in King Solomon’s porch, they asked Him, “Are you the Christ/Messiah” (John 10:24)? This same question was asked again by Caiaphas, the High Priest at Jesus’ trial before the Sanhedrin. When Jesus confessed that He was the Christ/Messiah, and equal to God, they accused Him of blasphemy and were ready to kill Him (John 10:30, 31; Matthew 26:62-68). The Apostle John’s purpose in writing His Gospel was to demonstrate, by means of seven sign miracles, that Jesus was indeed the Christ, the Son of the living God (John 20:31). The Apostle Peter made a bold confession on behalf of the other disciples by affirming their belief in Jesus as the Christ (Matthew 16:16). Did you know that Christ’s own half brothers didn’t believe on Him as the Messiah and the Son of God until after His bodily resurrection from the dead (John 7:5; Mark 3:21; 1 Corinthians 15:7)?

The Clear Witness (Testimony). In the Apostle John’s Gospel Jesus was identified as “The Word” (John 1:1-18; 1 John 1:1). He was the Communicator on behalf of the other members in the Godhead – The Father and the Holy Spirit. He spoke the words and did the works that God His Father wanted Him to do to validate His true identity (John 10:25; 6:63-68). God the Holy Spirit also was involved in leading Jesus during His earthly ministry (Matthew 4:1; 12:18-32; Luke 4:1).

The Confirming Announcement. Jesus proclaimed that His healthy sheep heard and were sensitive to His voice (John 10:4, 16, 27; See Psalm 23; 1 Kings 19:12; Romans 8:14). They were obedient to Him and His leadership (John 10:27; 15:10, 14). But a sick (carnal) sheep had a tendency to wander away from the Shepherd (Luke 15:3-7). His healthy sheep are confident of their security and their destiny (John 10:28, 29; 14:1-3). Their hope (confident expectation) was based on God’s promises (Romans 15:4) because they were/are in His strong and loving arms (Romans 8:35-39).

The Gospel. To be delivered from having to spend eternity with the devil and his angels in the lake of fire (Matthew 25:41, 46), we must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, who died for our sins…and rose again bodily from the grave on the third day (Acts 16:31; 1 Corinthians 15:3, 4). Have you done this yet? If not, why not believe on Him right now and receive His gift of eternal life and assurance from God’s Word (1 John 5:13) and the indwelling Holy Spirit (Romans 8:16).

The Sheep. If you are a true believer and are one of Jesus’ sheep, are you sensitive to His voice when He communicates to you through His Word, your conscience, other people, and/or your circumstances? Are you merely a hearer or are you a doer of His Word (James 1:21, 22)? Are you sharing God’s Word and the Gospel with others who are teachable and willing to change (2 Timothy 2:2; 4:2-5)?

Confidence. Have you come to a place in your life where you know that you will go to heaven the moment you die? Or do you think that you have to go to a purging place first? Why should God let you into His heaven? If you are quite confident that you will go to heaven, is there anything that you could do or fail to do that would cause you to lose your salvation? If so, what would that be?

Clear Gospel – Audio: http://www.duluthbible.org/the-gospel-audiobook/

We, as the citizens of the United States of America, have a major decision to make in the coming election. In my humble opinion it seems to boil down to whether or not we want to continue to maintain our own sovereignty (self rule) as a nation or yield/submit ourselves to another organization that has proven itself to be a miserable failure thus far – the United Nations and/or the coming New World Order that the Scriptures predicted would come in the last days (Daniel 2:40-43). Why will God allow men to defy Him and set up a One World Government and how long will it last (Proverbs 14:12; John 15:5)?  What should the world leaders be doing (Psalm 2)?  What will you do?  You have a choice.

Lowest Of Men

It shouldn’t surprise us that those who are running for the highest office in the land lack moral character. Are they a reflection of us? Why have we degenerated to such a low level of morality?  There is an answer found in Romans 1:18-32.  The Scriptures tell us “That the Most High [God] rules in the kingdom of men, [and] gives it to whomever He will, and sets over it the lowest [basest] of men” (Daniel 4:17).  Keep in mind that no one gets into power without His permission (Daniel 2:21).

Things To Come

About 2,600 years ago God revealed to wicked King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon His plan for “Things to Come” (Daniel 2, 7). Much of it has been fulfilled already. But the “Day of Man” seems to be coming to an end.  During the Seven Years of the Tribulation over ½ of the world’s population will die from wars, famines, pestilences, and earthquakes (Revelation 6-19; Matthew 24:7).  The social engineers of this world would like to reduce the population down to about 500 million people.

False Peace

The down trodden people of the world are longing for peace on earth. They are looking for someone, anyone to bring it to them. Such a person is probably alive right now and waiting in the wings for the “right crisis” to occur for him to step on to the stage and offer to the world his peace proposal. Do you know what event could trigger it (John 14:1-3; 1 Corinthians 15:51, 52; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)? (Read some disturbing quotes http://www.arewelivinginthelastdays.com/com/quotes.html)

The Hated Jews

Even though the nation of Israel is marginalized and despised by most of the countries of the world, this “man of lawlessness – the Antichrist” (2 Thessalonians 2:7-12) will come on the scene and make a “Seven Year Peace Agreement” with the Jews (Daniel 9:27). Perhaps this will be in exchange for their right to protect themselves against their sworn enemies whose agenda is to wipe them off the face of the earth once and for all as Hitler tried to do. It may involve Israel’s having to relinquish their nuclear weapons to this man who will promise to protect that tiny Jewish nation from their enemies.  Do you know when and why the Antichrist will break his agreement with the Jews? What will he do during the last 3 1/2 years of the Tribulation?  When and where does the campaign of Armageddon take place (Matthew 24:15 ff, Revelation 12-19)?  What horrific thing will happen to all the armies of the world that come against Israel (Zechariah 14:12-15)?

Far Fetched?

No, the books of Daniel and Revelation, which many people allegorize or spiritualize rather than interpret normally, reveal what is in store for the future of mankind. A special blessing is promised to those who read the book of Revelation and to those who hear the words of this prophecy, and who keep (guard in their hearts) those things that are written in it (Revelation 1:3). Hiding your head in the sand won’t make the problems of the world go away.  There is only one Person who can bring in lasting peace – “The Prince of Peace – The Lord Jesus Christ” (Isaiah 9:6, 7).

Invigorating

It may be that we are about to witness what the Scriptures have predicted would take place. The world is ripe for judgment even as major earthquakes are overdue in the state of California and in other parts of the world. The 9.0 earthquake in Japan several years ago (which our two children survived) was minor in comparison to what is yet to come (Matthew 24:7). The movie “2012” shook some people up for a little while.

The Passion

Mel Gibson’s movie, “The Passion Of The Christ” also brought some people to tears as they thought about the unjust sufferings of Christ. But did they come away knowing why Christ died and rose again bodily from the dead? It was designed by God to display His love for those of us who have sinned against God (John 3:16),  All of us deserve to be eternally separated from Him in the lake of fire (Romans 3:10-23; 6:23; Matthew 25:41, 46). Christ died in our place for our sins…and rose again bodily to demonstrate to us that God the Father was satisfied with His payment for our sins (Romans 4:25; 1 John 2:2; 4:10).

Provision

Even though God has provided forgiveness and eternal life to all mankind, and not just to a few people, it is not secured until we place our faith in Christ alone to save us (John 1:12; Acts 16:31). We aren’t saved by our good works or by faith plus our good works (Ephesians 2:8, 9; Titus 3:5). If someone were to ask you, Why should God let you into heaven?” what would you say? If you included any of your good works, you are believing in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:2) and you aren’t headed for heaven. Get help immediately so you can be assured from Scripture (1 John 5:13) that you have met God’s only condition for entrance into heaven (Acts 4:12; 16:31).

Gospel

The Good News (Gospel) that we must believe to be saved is that Christ died for our sins…and rose again bodily on the third day” (1 Corinthians 15:3, 4). Believing in/on Christ through this message will result in our being saved from the lake of fire and entering heaven.

Our Son Bill’s Death https://kelseypeach.wordpress.com/2016/04/16/the-death-of-our-son-2/

Try to imagine a sports event without any rules or refs. That’s ridiculous. Not only do the players need to know the rules, the referees also need to know them very well and enforce them or they will be out of a job. Do you think people would pay big bucks to go to an event without rules and referees? Every sports event needs them.

Anarchy. Believe it or not, there are people who think that a society can exist without rules and referees. That is ridiculous. Anarchy would prevail. The rules need to apply to all people or there will be resentment among those who are treated by different standards. This seems to be a major problem in our society today. Do you agree?

Enslavement. When everyone makes up his own set of rules and does what is right in his own eyes (Judges 17:6; 21:25), enslavement follows (Judges 2:10-15). This happened multiple times in Israel’s history during the days of the Judges. They went from rebellion to retribution to repentance to restoration. The Jews disregarded the laws that God had given to them at Mt. Sinai and so God allowed enemy nations to overtake the Jews and enslave them until they cried out to God for deliverance. This went on many times for several hundred years until the people demanded a king (1 Samuel 8:5). As long as the king was a righteous king, who enforced God’s laws, things were fine. But when the king disregarded God’s laws himself, and was capricious and fickle, there were problems. “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when the wicked man rules, the people groan” (Proverbs 29:2).

Nations. God scattered the rebellious people at Babel whom He had told to spread out over the whole earth to populate it (Genesis 9:1; 11:8). But while they were in the process of building a tower toward heaven, God came down and changed their languages so they couldn’t communicate with each other. As they spread out, they intermarried among themselves and certain genes became dominant, causing different skin colors and some other features. Folks, there is only one race, the human race (Acts 17:26). See www.evolutionvsgod.com

Continents. During this time, the continental shift began to take in the days of a man named Peleg (Genesis 10:25). It’s not hard to see how the continents almost fit together if you moved them closer to each other.

N.W.O. God is opposed to the New Word Order that men want to establish without Him. But He will allow them (perhaps very soon) to try their experiment for seven years. If it went on any longer than this, no flesh would survive (Mark 13:20). The unholy trinity, consisting of the devil, the man of sin (Antichrist), and the false prophet will dominate the people of this world (Revelation 13). During this awful period of human history, over ½ of the world’s population will die (Revelation 6:8; 9:15). Those who don’t take the mark of the beast (666) will not be able to buy or sell and most of them will perish (Revelation 13:17). The apostate, one world church will also be in operation at this time (Revelation 17, 18). Believers who are living during this time will be told, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and you receive her plagues” (Revelation 18:4). The same truth applies to Christians today. “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers” (2 Corinthians 6:14). Beware of the ecumenical movement that is encouraging all religions to band together to bring peace to earth.

Government. God is the One who instituted human government right after the universal flood of Noah’s day (Genesis 9:6). This includes the responsibility of capital punishment for certain crimes against humanity (Romans 13:4). Any form of government is better than no government. The government’s job is to enforce the laws for the good of the people (Romans 13). Sometimes the laws of men conflict with God’s laws. When this happens, believers must obey God rather than man (Acts 5:29) and be willing to suffer unjustly (1 Peter 2:19).

O.S.N. All of us are born with an old sinful nature (a rebellious disposition) that was passed down to us from our parents (Psalm 51:5). Those who say that they don’t have one are deceiving themselves (1 John 1:8). Christians don’t lose their O.S.N. when they get saved (Romans 7:15-25). But we do participate in the Divine nature (2 Peter 1:4) when we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, who died for our sins…and rose again bodily on the third day (Acts 16:31; 1 Corinthians 15:3, 4).

Captain. Most people don’t like to be told what to do. Like the devil, we want to live independently of God (Isaiah 14:14; James 4:13). We want to be the captain of our own ship and the master of our own fate. Sorry, you aren’t and can’t be. Jesus said, “Without Me, you can do nothing” (John 15:5). “…in Him we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28). Some day you will give an account of yourself to Him (Romans 14:12; Hebrews 4:13; 9:27).

Questions. Could you be living a miserable, vain life because you are trying to live without God in your life as King Solomon did (Ecclesiastes 1:2)? Are you sure you know where you will go when you die? Upon what is your belief based? Would you like some answers from God’s Word which is true and trustworthy (John 17:17)?

Contact. We don’t claim to have all the answers to the questions that people have. When someone you love or know is a true Christian and is taken from you in death, it’s very comforting to know what God says about the deceased. No one, whether he is a believer or non-believer, ceases to exist or is reincarnated (Luke 16:19-31; Revelation 22:11). No one needs to remain in the dark when he accepts God’s Word as being the truth that can set us free (John 8:32; 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17).

Interpretation. But it’s sad that so many professing Christians don’t take God’s Word normally (literally) when it relates to Christ’s bodily resurrection from the dead or His returning to this earth in the future. They believe that Jesus literally fulfilled the prophecies that were made about His first coming. But somehow they change the rules of interpretation and say that the prophecies concerning His return aren’t to be understood and taken literally but rather spiritually or allegorically. This robs people of hope and causes needless sorrow and pain to those who are left here on earth (1 Thessalonians 4:13).

Unaware. The Jewish believers living in Old Testament times, before Christ died for our sins…and rose again bodily from the dead, were aware of the fact that everyone would be raised from the dead someday (Daniel 12:2, 3; John 11:24). But they didn’t have New Testament truths that tell us that there are years between the resurrection of the righteous dead and the unrighteous dead people (Revelation 20:11-15). The righteous believers of the Old Testament will be raised 75 days after the “time of Jacob’s [Israel’s] trouble” also known to us as “the Great Tribulation” (Daniel 12:12; Jeremiah 30:7; Matthew 24:21ff).

New Information. Not until God revealed more truth to us in the New Testament through His prophets (2 Peter 1:21) could one know that He had planned for another unique resurrection to take place for a new group of people known as “The Church” or “The Body of Christ” (Ephesians 2:22). It didn’t exist in the Old Testament times but had its beginning after the bodily resurrection of Christ on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1ff). This group of believers is distinct and uniquely different from the Jewish believers living in Old Testament times under the Mosaic Law. New Testament Christians have been given “Grace Principles” for living (Romans 6:14; See our FREE “Dispensations Chart”).

Sure. The Apostle Paul passed on to New Testament Christians truths He’d personally received from the Lord during his theological training in the wilderness for three years (Galatians 1:15-18). There will be a group of Christians who won’t die physically before they go to the heavenly New Jerusalem that Jesus has been preparing for all true Christians (John 14:1-3; See Revelation 21:9ff for a description of this place). This is an exception to the general rule found in Hebrews 9:27. Enoch and Elijah are examples of those who passed from this life into another one without dying (Genesis 5:24; 2 Kings 2:11).

Sudden. This phase of Christ’s second coming precedes the seven years of tribulation that is coming to this earth (Daniel 9:27; Matthew 24:29ff; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; 5:9). It seems to be very near at hand as the one world government and one world church seem to be emerging on the horizon (Revelation 13, 17, 18). This event, commonly called “The Rapture” or “The Catching Up” will take place in the twinkling of an eye (1 Corinthians 15:51, 52) whereas the Second Coming of Christ will be gradual and evident to all who are on earth at this time (Matthew 24:29ff).

Silent. Although there will be a shout, the voice of an archangel, and the trumpet of God, these things will be heard only by those for whom they are intended and not for others who will be left behind. Our human ears are capable of hearing only things within certain ranges. Contact us if you’d like to learn more about the significance of these three things.

Selective. This particular resurrection is designed only for New Testament Christians or those who are said to be “in the Body of Christ, the true Church” by the baptizing work of God the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:12, 13). Both the dead and living Christians will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. Between earth and heaven, at the “Bema Seat Judgment,” our works done on earth will be evaluated to determine if there are any of them that can be rewarded (1 Corinthians 3:11-15; 4:5; 2 Corinthians 5:10).

Satisfying. Knowing and believing this truth from God’s Word can be a source of great comfort to those Christians who may be nearing death and to those who remain on earth after their loved one dies (1 Thessalonians 4:18). Jesus holds the “keys of death” today (Revelation 1:18). No one can take the believer’s life until God causes or allows it to happen.

Help. If you’re not sure that you will go to heaven the moment you die we’re here to help you. God can’t/won’t lie to us (Titus 1:2). His Word tells us to “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and [we] will be saved” (Acts 16:31). The Good News that we must believe is that “Christ died for our sins…and rose again bodily on the third day” (1 Corinthians 15:3, 4). When we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, God the Holy Spirit will bear witness with our spirit that we are true children of God (Romans 8:16). We also have the written word that says, “These things I [the Apostle John] have written to you who believe in [on] the name [i.e. The Person and work] of the Son of God, that you may know [right now] that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:13).
