How would you feel if, after giving your child a very expensive gift, he thanked you for it but failed to open it up and use it? Now imagine how God might feel if you did the same thing to Him. Yes, God has feelings too.

Many Christians grieve God the Holy Spirit when they act like unbelievers and fail to be grateful people (Ephesians 4:30). Maybe you don’t know this, but at the time of your salvation God gave you a very special gift (1 Peter 4:10). Every Christian has one. It is a unique ability to help other people (Galatians 6:10). When used with love, it will bring great satisfaction and joy to you. Have you opened it up and put it to use? If not, why?

Just because some churches abuse or ignore spiritual gifts (abilities) doesn’t mean that you should do the same. Discover the gift that God gave to you when He saved you. Develop it and use it with love (1 Corinthians 13) for the good of others and for God’s glory (1 Corinthians 10:31). Bring joy and happiness into the lives of others. SMILE!

If you’re not a Christian, God offers to you the gift of eternal life (John 3:16; 1 John 5:11-13). It must be received by faith. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ who died for your sins and rose again (Acts 16:31; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8). Trust Him alone, not your good works or anything else (Ephesians 2:8, 9) if you want to be saved from hell and go to heaven.
