This is the Gospel (Good News) that both Jews and non-Jews must believe to be saved from hell to heaven: “Christ [the God-man] died for our sins according to the Scriptures, … was buried, and rose again [bodily] on the third day according to the Scriptures…” (1 Corinthians 15:3, 4; See Luke 24:36-43; Romans 1:16, 17).
The means by which we are saved: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ [alone] and you will be saved…” (Acts 16:31; See John 3:16, 18, 36). Note: We are NOT saved by our good works or by faith plus our good works. “For by grace [unmerited favor from God] you have been saved through faith [by believing in the Christ of the Scriptures through the Gospel], and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Ephesians 2:8, 9; See Titus 3:5).
It is not enough for us to know and give mental assent to these facts; we must transfer our faith and trust from ourselves and our “good works” or anything else, over to the Lord Jesus Christ alone if we are to be saved.

Once We’ve Been Saved, What Are Christians Supposed To Do?
Be baptized by immersion. This is NOT something we have to do to be saved. Instead, it is to let other people know that we have placed our faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ alone for our salvation (Acts 8:38). It is a picture of our death, burial, and resurrection with Christ (Galatians 2:20).
